The Progress in AFs series will help your students achieve their full potential in Reading and Writing at Key Stage 3. The series includes 14 Teacher’s Books, each targeting a specific Assessment Focus (AF) for either Reading or Writing.
Each Teacher’s Book includes a selection of Masterclasses for Levels 3–4, 4–5, 5–6 and 6–7. A step-by-step lesson plan for each Masterclass provides practice and reinforcement activities focussed on helping students to progress to the next Level.
The Student’s Book is jam-packed with an inspiring range of texts which forms the basis of each Masterclass.
Schools are using this flexible series in a variety of ways, including:
- As a ‘block’ of focused Masterclasses to boost attainment in specific skills
- As a personalised, practical solution to address areas of underachievement identified through Assessing Pupil Progress (APP)

If ordering on account you will receive an invoice with the goods.
Individual customers in the UK

Schools or individuals from outside the UK
We cannot take payment online for overseas orders. This includes orders that will be sent via a UK shipper.
If you are an overseas customer you can add items to the shopping basket and submit this order to our customer service team at the checkout. Our customer service team will then contact you by email to confirm shipping costs and arrange for payment.

Approval service for UK schools
The Progress in AFs Teacher’s Books (paper versions) and Student’s Book can be ordered on approval by UK schools.
Any items ordered on approval will be invoiced when the goods are dispatched. However, the approval invoice only needs to be paid if you decide to keep the goods.
If a product is not suitable for your school, simply return the item to us in its original condition within 30 days of receipt. Please note that schools are responsible for paying the return postage cost.
