Smart Learning Approval Scheme

We offer an approval scheme to UK schools on a selection of our products. This gives teachers 30 days to evaluate our content to decide if it meets the needs of their school.

Any items ordered 'on approval' will be invoiced when the goods are dispatched. However, you only need to pay the invoice if you decide to keep them.

If a product is not suitable for your school, simply return the item to us in its original condition within 30 days of receipt. Please note that schools are responsible for paying the return postage cost.

Approval Service Exceptions

Please note that the following Smart Learning products CANNOT be ordered on approval:

• Editable Teacher’s Books for ANY Smart Learning series
• Smart Scripts - Captain Greenbeard's Eco-adventure
• Primary ICT Series Poster Packs
• Smart English Resource CD-ROMs

As these products are supplied as a download from the Smart Learning website, they are non-returnable. We do have lots of samples available if you’d like to see these before you make a purchase from these ranges. Please contact us for further information.

We recommend that you use a guaranteed postage method that requires a signature. We cannot accept responsibility for returned products while they are in the postal system, only once a Smart Learning employee has signed for the delivery.

How do I order a product on approval?

Simply indicate that you are ‘ordering on approval’ when you place your order.

Ordering by post or fax: please tick the appropriate box or write ‘Approval Order’ at the top of the form.

Ordering online: please select the ‘Payment on Account/Approval’ option on the online order form:

Ordering by phone: simply let us know that you would like to order on approval.

Most of our products can be ordered on approval, with the exception of the following products (Smart Scripts Captain Greenbeard's Eco-adventure, Editable Teacher's Books from any series and Primary ICT Poster Packs).

On receipt of your returned items, we will raise a credit note against your returned items. If you are keeping some items, then please settle your original invoice – minus the cost of the returned items.

We will assume that you are happy with any products that you have not returned after 30 days. Please be aware of this deadline and arrange for payment to be made on approved items.
